GREENLIGHT
for your Final Exam Video Project IDEA!
So, make it a good one!
OBJECTIVE: SWBAT CREATE A CONCEPT MAP USING THE PROGRAM ON THE MACS CALLED "INSPIRATION" AND IT MUST INCLUDE ALL NECESSARY CRITERIA AS INDICATED BELOW AND IN THE LESSON.
Mini Lesson: WHAT IS IN A PITCH?
Elements that must be included in your pitch:
-DECIDE ON THE FOLLOWING
1. A "WORKING TITLE" AND BASIC STORY IDEA (EX: "Little Shop of Horrors" and "man who works at shop encounters a plant that comes to life")
2. PROGRAM OBJECTIVE-THE GOAL OF YOUR SHOW (EX: to entertain, inform, etc)
3. YOUR GENRE OR SHOW STYLE (Category or Show Type, EX: short film, psa **This should be one of the categories optional on the "Final Exam Video" TAB!)
4. TARGET AUDIENCE (WHO IS YOUR DEMOGRAPHIC? WHO DO YOU WANT TO WATCH IT?)
5. PLOT (WHAT DO YOU WANT TO HAPPEN? **THINK OF A STORY-ARC*** INTRO-CLIMAX-CONCLUSION)
6. HOOK- WHAT MAKES YOUR STORY IDEA UNIQUE? WHY WILL PEOPLE WANT TO TUNE IN OR WATCH? (SELL YOUR IDEA!)
THE Activity:
YOU MUST DECIDE ON A TOPIC FOR YOUR "MIDTERM" (BUT REALLY, IT'S OUR "FINAL"). YOU MUST DEVELOP A "PITCH" FOR THIS IDEA, MEETING THE REQUIREMENTS ABOVE, TO PRODUCE YOUR FINAL EXAM VIDEO:
1. USING INSPIRATION, CREATE YOUR OWN CONCEPT MAP PITCH THAT EXPLAINS THE CRITERIA LISTED ABOVE. You should create 6 separate bubbles, for each criteria above, with the details inside of it. You may verbally pitch in front of the class using this completed concept map.
2. After you've created your MAP in Inspiration, then you must PITCH the idea TO THE CLASS... YES, in front of everyone, at the front of the class.
3. Using Green And Red Construction Paper, Vote if you GREENLIGHT or Not:
A Greenlight means: You think the idea is "do-able" "realistic" and an "overall good idea." Getting a Greenlight from me, means, You can produce the idea and have my approval. If you are given and REDS, it could mean that we either have a problem with the idea, that it is unrealistic to accomplish, or that there's a question or a concern. IF you are given a RED by the teacher, you must go back to the drawing board and revisit your entire idea.
3.PLEASE REFER TO THE FINAL EXAM VIDEO TAB FOR TOPIC CHOICES.
4. PLEASE REFER TO THE RUBRIC ATTACHED BELOW TO ENSURE YOU ARE MEETING ALL NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS PROJECT.
