Quiz on Interviews Terms and Setup Thursday!
Objective: SWBAT identify terms in preparation for an upcoming quiz and watch/critique the Student Spotlight Videos, discussing the integration of SOTS, Broll, A Roll and Interview setup.
A-Roll- PRIMARY VIDEO... Originally when video was recorded an editor would cut between the 2 tape rolls... an "A" which was the primary video track and "B" the secondary video.
B-ROLL- SUPPLEMENTARY VIDEO (SECONDARY VIDEO) that is used to cover edits & tell a story visually. Listen to WHAT an interviewee says in their questions that you can shoot and cover their words.
SOT- Sound On Tape - This is a SOUNDBITE that takes only a portion of what someone says to include in a larger story known as a Package.
SOTS can also be used separately from a PACKAGE if it is "thrown to" or "tossed" by an Anchor or Reporter.
VO- Is a Voice Over. When someone voice is heard over video, this is known as VO.
VO/SOT- When the video you see has a VO (voice over it) and it leads to someone's soundbite where they are on camera.
SOT/VO-When the video heard starts with someone on camera speaking and their voice track remains while B-roll is covering their audio.
