THE INTERVIEW PROJECT "STUDENT SPOTLIGHT"
Do Now:
YOU WILL BE FILMING & EDITING AN IN CLASS PROJECT CALLED THE STUDENT SPOTLIGHT. PLEASE BEGIN READING THE RUBRIC BELOW TO UNDERSTAND THE PROJECTS REQUIREMENTS.
OBJECTIVE ((day 1)):
SWBAT: WRITE OPEN ENDED QUESTIONS TO USE IN THEIR INTERVIEW WHERE THEY WILL APPLY THE SKILLS TAUGHT TO PROPERLY SET UP A CAMERA, MICROPHONE AND TRIPOD IN ORDER TO EXECUTE AN ON CAMERA INTERVIEW.
Mini Lesson:
a) How to Write Open Ended Questions
b) A Roll / B Roll SOT / VO
c) Setting Up the Equipment.
Activity: Students will be grouped and asked to write their questions for their Student Spotlight. (which will be filmed at the next class period).
Closure: Respond to the following in your Notebooks.
1) Why is it important to _write open ended questions.
2) Describe what A Roll, B Roll, SOT and VO's are.
3) Draw the setup for an interview.

Setting Up an Interview
Interview Setup:
*Camera goes eye level with the interview subject
*Say your name and spell it
*Get Release Forms
*Do not ask Yes or No Questions
*Ask Guest to rephrase question in their answer
*Never give away your microphone, always control the interview and end with Thank you.
*If available, use 3 point lighting
Use Micrcophones if available, or be mindful of sound (WEAR HEADSETS)

OBJECTIVE DAY 3: SWBAT EDIT THEIR INTERVIEWS INCORPORATING BROLL, AND REVERSES, AS WELL AS THE REQUIREMENTS LISTED BELOW AND IN THE PROJECT'S RUBRIC. (SEE ABOVE).
