Do Now: Students will attempt to SORT what they predict are the proper procedural steps for production.
Objective: SWBAT identify the proper sequencing of necessary production steps in order to accomplish a video through the three phases.
Activity: Individually re-order the activities within each phase to ensure understanding.
Closure: Recall steps in the phases of production & discuss how this will help them in the Final Exam Video Project.
THREE phases of production are:
PRE- PRODUCTION (PRE=BEFORE) pre-interview guests research prepare questions organize necessary crew and other production requirements *ideally you'd like to have release forms signed off before the actual shoot write scripts pitch your story idea draft a treatment or proposal cast actors Obtain any 3rd party permission or license agreements
PRODUCTION (THE ACTUAL SHOOTING) blocking (organizing the angles of shots) create shot lists get release forms signed if not already done BEFORE production shoot the production hold production meetingdistribute shooting schedule to producers & crewShoot additional, supplementary video, or B-roll
POST-PRODUCTION (POST=AFTER) Create an Edit Decision List or EDL based on the takes you likeSweeten the AudioWrite Thank you notes to intervieweesEdit the videoScreen for any spelling errorsAdd Lower 3rds/Titles Names (if not entered live)
